Kenneth K. Moghadam, MD

Medical Director / Founder

Dr. Moghadam is the Medical Director and founder of the Austin Fertility Institute. He is an experienced reproductive medicine specialist, with board certification in both obstetrics/gynecology and reproductive endocrinology/infertility. Dr. Moghadam grew up in the Chicago area, and obtained his undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. Upon graduation from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, he returned to the Midwest, completing his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Indiana University. He then obtained accredited subspecialty fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Cincinnati.

Despite a diversity of activities and interests, Dr. Moghadam derives his greatest satisfaction from applying his background and experience to the compassionate care of his patients. He is an avid sports enthusiast, tennis player, and enjoys the Austin music scene.  He and his wife Tammy have been married since 1995 and have four sons.

Natalie M. Crawford, MD

Medical Director of Fertility Preservation / Oncofertility

Dr. Natalie Crawford is an accomplished reproductive endocrinologist with extensive clinical and research training. She will build upon her past interests in the care of reproductive age cancer patients as the new Medical Director of Oncofertility and Fertility Preservation. Along with an empathetic nature that always allows her to develop close connections with her patients throughout their infertility journeys, Dr. Crawford brings expertise in advanced fertility care and skills in minimally invasive surgery to the institute.

Dr. Crawford completed her undergraduate education at Auburn University, obtaining a degree in nutrition science.  She has strong roots in Texas, having received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Most recently, Dr. Crawford completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of North Carolina while concurrently obtaining a masters degree in clinical research.  She is board certified in both obstetrics/gynecology and reproductive endocrinology/infertility

Dr. Crawford incorporates evidence-based medicine with a sincere desire to help patients achieve their dreams of family building. Her interests include running, yoga, cooking and college football.  She is married to Austin native Jason Crawford, and they have two young children.

Michelle has worked in the administrative side of women’s healthcare for 10 years. She has extensive training in insurance benefits and surgery scheduling. Michelle was born and raised in Austin, attended Howard College on a softball scholarship, and then transferred to West Texas A&M to finish out her collegiate softball career - even though she is a lifetime Longhorn fan! She enjoys anything outdoors, including sports, hiking, and camping. Michelle plays on a competitive women’s softball team and loves spending time with her family including her nieces and nephews.

Registered Nurse

Jamie earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. She then continued her education with Texas Tech University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. With a medical assistant background in obstetrics and gynecology, Jamie is well versed in women’s health. Since graduation, she has gained over six years of experience in OB/GYN, medical-surgical nursing, and reproductive endocrinology.  Jamie has been living in Austin for ten years, and while her passion is nursing, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen as well as indulging in Austin’s live music scene on her days off.

Amy brings with her 14 years of practical RN experience. Graduating from Blinn College of Nursing, Amy has held positions in neonatal intensive care, labor and delivery, ambulatory surgery centers in both pre and post operational procedures, circulating and clinical office experience. Amy is a native Texan, living in Austin for over 32 years.

Family is very important to Amy. She stays busy with her husband, and two young boys through her involvement with church, school, sports, and Boy Scouts. She also enjoys spending time relaxing with her friends and neighbors.

Originally from Houston, Brittany moved to Austin in 2006 to attend the University of  Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduating, she spent six years in obstetrics and gynecology gaining experience in assisting with in office procedures and obtaining extensive knowledge in prenatal care, postpartum care, and women’s health. When not at work, you can find Britt in the gym training with her Olympic Weightlifting team, at the park with her dogs, or at home working on her very own fixer upper.

Jenna graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Youngstown State University. Originally from Youngstown, OH, Jenna moved to Austin in June of 2015 and began her nursing career at St. David’s Medical Center working as a registered nurse on the medical/surgical unit; she subsequently transferred to the newborn nursery where she worked for almost two years. In addition to the experience above, she has also worked as a nurse’s associate in the postpartum unit while attending nursing school at Youngstown State. Although very skilled in the hospital setting, Jenna’s true passion is for office and continuity-based women’s health. She enjoys the outdoors, traveling, exploring the great city of Austin and spending time with friends and family.

Nicole graduated from the National Institute of Technology in May 2005 with a Medical Assistant diploma, acquiring her certification in February 2013.  She is also a certified BLS Instructor for CPR since May 2013.  She has worked directly in Women’s Health for nearly ten years. Nicole joined AFI in 2015 to expand upon her experience and help fertility patients.  At home, she loves spending time with her family and creating hand-made bracelets for her loved ones.

Ilianna graduated from Southern Career Institute in October 2014 as a Certified Medical Assistant. Her first experience as a medical assistant with a urologist led to an early interest in fertility. Ilianna subsequently worked for a large otolaryngology group as their Lead Allergy Medical Assistant. Her exceptional phlebotomy skills and warm, friendly personality make her a great addition to our clinical team. Ilianna is bilingual; she speaks fluent Spanish and English. Ilianna enjoys spending time with her family, watching cooking shows, singing and sketching.

Erika started her career in healthcare 10 years ago. She previously worked for a primary care, cardiologist and pediatrics doctor and finally found her passion in fertility. Erika is bilingual; she speaks fluent Spanish and English. She moved here 3 years ago from Virginia with her husband to start their life together. She enjoys the outdoors including hiking, anything having to do with water, cooking, spending time with her husband and family.
